City Team
The City Missing from Home team formed in September 2011 and consists of a dedicated team of a Sergeant and four Constables working a pattern covering 8 am until 11pm, seven days a week. The team aims to ensure that all missing from home reports are investigated thoroughly and wherever possible ensure that missing people are re-united with their next of kin as quickly as possible.
They also aim to offer advice, assistance and support to both those reported missing and concerned relatives throughout the time a person is reported missing.
The team works closely with statutory and voluntary partners and can be contacted on 101 extension 3520, mobile number 07554 115 550 or by emailing [email protected]. Please note the mobile phone number and email address are not monitored between 11pm and 8am. 101 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Counties Team
The Counties missing person’s team formed in February 2011 and signalled a real change in the way that the Leicestershire Police deal with missing person investigations.
The team is a specialist tier designed to provide support to front line officers, pursue more in depth enquiries and work on multi agency solutions.
The key areas that the team assist with are, investigative support, working with partner agencies, providing specialist knowledge, establishing intelligence, quality assurance and family support.
Since the team formed we have assisted with nearly 1800 different reports of people being missing of which 228 have been high risk. We work 7 days a week from 8am – 11pm, based at Wigston LPU and can be contacted on 101 ext 5501 or on e-mail at [email protected].
