February 4 Demonstrations

EDL and UAF routes

On Saturday February 4, 2012 at around 12.30pm, The English Defence League (EDL) and Leicester Unite Against Fascism (LUAF) will both hold formal demonstrations by marching seperately through different parts of Leicester city centre.

Leicestershire Police and Leicester City Council have come together to develop the City’s response. We know from our experiences in 2010 how disruptive such demonstrations can be to the life of the city. Both partners are determined to ensure this day passes as uneventfully as possible

We have a duty to facilitate the right of both the EDL and the Leicester UAF to stage a peaceful demonstration and are working with both the city council the EDL and Leicester UAF  to ensure that any disruption caused to the city by the marches is kept to a minimum.
