What the public can do
There is often no ‘quick fix' when it comes to anti-social behaviour as it often takes time for the various measures to take effect.
Talk to your friends and neighbours, find out about neighbourhood watch, community groups or other voluntary organisations.
There may be other people who you can join with to take further action. Your local neighbourhood policing team are often a good source of information.
If you are concerned about anti-social behaviour in your area the first step is to talk to your local neighbourhood policing team or local authority to determine what can be done and what is the best course of action.
There is no one single solution to tackling the effects of anti-social behaviour, each case will be treated on its own merits. However, the common theme is that when we unite to tackle a problem it is far more effective than working in isolation.
