Witness appeal following arson in Coalville
Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident of arson at a house in Coalville.
The incident happened at around 7.55pm on Sunday November 15, 2009 when the front door of a property on Margaret Street was set alight.
Members of the public extinguished the fire before the fire brigade arrived. Extensive smoke damage was caused to the downstairs lounge. There was no-one inside the property.
Detective Constable Denise Reidy, from Coalville CID, said: “Thankfully there was no-one inside when the fire was started and it was extinguished before it caused further damage.
“We're not sure what the motivation for this arson was but we're keeping an open mind.
"We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident. Did you see anything suspicious? Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, may help us with our enquiries."
