Robbery in London Road

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in London Road, Leicester.

The incident happened on Friday, November 6 between around 10.10pm near to the junction with Prebend Street, when the 28-year-old victim was approached from behind by two men.

One of the men snatched her handbag, causing her to drop her phone which she had been holding. The second man picked up the phone and both made off in the direction of the city centre.

One of the suspects is described as black between 18 and 20-years-old and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

The second suspect is described as between 18 and 20-years-old and was wearing dark casual clothing.

DC Steve Hadden, who is investigating the incident said: “This area of the city can be busy at this time of night. It is possible that someone saw what happened but has not yet come forward to speak to the police.

“We would ask anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us. Any information you may have could help with our enquiries.”
