Assault in Lee Circle
Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Lee Circle.
The incident happened at the NCP car park between 3.15pm and 4pm on Friday, November 6.
The 22-year-old victim went to the top floor of the car park with four men, three of whom are known to him. He was then assaulted by two of the group causing him to fall to the ground. While on the ground he was punched and kicked and had some money taken.
The four men then walked away, before two of them returned and assaulted him further, before taking more money and cigarettes.
The victim received hospital treatment for injuries to his face, torso and arms.
The first suspect is described as white, around 22-years-old and 6’ 3” tall of slim build with short blond hair. He was wearing grey hooded jacked, a yellow and white t-shirt, grey G Star jeans and orange work boots.
The second suspect is described as white, around 6’3” tall, around 21-years-old and with short blond hair. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, white t-shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.
PC Angela Cartwright, who is investigating the incident said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who saw this group of men walking together either before or after the assault took place.
“The group met near to Wilkinson, in Charles Street and we would like to speak to anyone who saw them in this area or making their way to the car park.
“We would also ask people to think back. Were you using this car park on the day in question? Did you see the group on the top floor? Did you hear anything? Even the smallest bit of information could help with our enquiries.”
