Appeal following incident on Burleys Way

Police in Leicester city centre are appealing for witnesses following an incident on Burleys Way.

The incident happened close to the junction with Abbey Street at around 9pm on Saturday November 7 following a driving incident. The driver of a black Hackney carriage and the driver of a maroon Volkswagen Golf were involved in an altercation.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or the events leading up to it.

PC Charles Edwards from the City Centre local policing unit, said: “The driver of the Golf got out of his car and approached the hackney carriage. I’m sure if you were in or around Burleys Way and you witnessed this you will remember it.

“This is a busy part of Leicester, and at 9pm on a Saturday night there will have been plenty of people in and around that area.

“If you were in town that night and you saw this altercation or events leading up to it then please get in touch.”
