Car found burnt out in Dunton Bassett
Officers in Harborough are appealing for witnesses following an arson attack on a car in Dunton Bassett.
The incident happened sometime between 10.50pm on Saturday January 9 and 3.30am on Sunday January 10, when police received a report that a car was on fire in a layby on the A426 Lutterworth Road.
The fire service attended and extinguished the fire. The car was completely burnt out.
Officers believe the fire was started deliberately and are appealing for information.
PC Emma Hardwick, who is investigating this incident, said: "The car was completely burnt out and the owner of the vehicle has now been left without a car, which is a great inconvenience.
“We believe that the car horn was beeping while the car was alight which may have caught your attention. If you remember hearing the horn and looked to see what it was you may have important information about the incident that could help us. If so, then please call.
“We would also like anyone who was driving along Lutterworth Road that evening to call us if they can remember seeing anyone acting suspiciously around a car that was parked in a layby.”
