Cars in Coalville damaged
Officers in Coalville are appealing for witnesses after receiving a number of calls about damaged cars.
Six cars that were parked on Staples Drive had their tyres slashed sometime between Saturday January 16 and Sunday January 17, when the owners began calling the police.
The number of tyres slashed ranged from one to four on each car. One of the cars was also scratched down one side.
PC John Camp, who is investigating the incident, said: “Because all the damaged cars were parked in the same street it is likely that the same person or people did them all at the same time. So if you witnessed someone damaging a car that evening please get in touch.
“This has caused great inconvenience to the victims and in the case of an emergency it could have had huge consequences.
“If you can remember seeing anyone acting suspiciously or know anything about the incident, then please call us.”
Anybody with any information is asked to contact PC 2153 John Camp on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 2153. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
* Please note, some mobile phone service providers may charge for this call.
