13-year-old assaulted in Leicester
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 13-year-old boy was assaulted in Leicester.
The incident happened at about 3.10pm last Friday (February 5) when the victim was approached from behind by three youths as he walked along Marydene Drive.
The youths then assaulted him, punching and pushing him.
Following the assault the victim was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment to his injuries.
The three youths responsible are believed to be aged between 13 and 15-years-old.
One of the youths is described as being of dual heritage and one is believed to be Asian.
PC Vishal Dave, the officer investigating the incident, said: “We are keen to find out who was responsible for this assault and would like to speak to anyone who has information about it.
“At about 3pm pupils would have been walking home from schools in the area so we are appealing to them and their parents to get in touch with us if they know anything about the incident.
“When officers arrived at the scene there were a number of people in the area. These people could have witnessed the assault and we would like them to call us if they were there when the boy was assaulted.”
