Police have released CCTV images of three men they would like to trace in connection with the theft of a bike.

The incident happened at around 9.20pm on Friday May 8 when the victim’s bicycle was taken from an underground car park in Yeoman Street.

The bike is described as a specialised stump jumper mountain bike, worth around £1,600. It is red with white details and white suspension forks.

Two of the suspects are believed to be white and the third is thought to be Asian. They are all in their late teens to early 20s.

PC Gemma Allen, who is investigating the incident said: “I would ask people to take a look at these images. Do you recognise any of the people in them? Maybe they go to your college or drink at your local pub? If you recognise them please get in touch as you could have information which will help with our enquiry.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious. Did you see someone riding off on a bike matching this description.

“There is the possibility the suspects will have tried to sell the bike on and we would ask people who work in the second hand bike industry to keep an eye out. Alternatively, if you have been offered a bike like this, or know someone who has acquired one please let us know.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 4731 Gemma Allen on 0116 222 2222 and follow the instructions to leave a message for an officer. When prompted key in his identification number 4731. Alternatively, contact Crimestopppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
