Assault in Aylestone Lane, Wigston

Police have issued an eigan fit image of a man they want to speak to in connection with an assault on a man in Aylestone Lane, Wigston.

The incident happened at 4.10 am on Sunday September 6, as the 50-year-old victim walked his dog along Aylestone Lane. 

A man attempted to push the victim to the ground before punching him in the face a number of times.  He then attempted to kick the victim’s dog, before running away into Willow Park. 

The victim received injuries to his lips and thumb. 

The suspect is described as black, clean shaven, aged 20-25-years-old, around 6’ 1” tall, of an athletic build with broad shoulders.  He wore a black hooded top with stripes on the shoulders with the hood covering his face, together with black trousers and white trainers and was listening to music on his headphones.

PC Sharan Tutt, the officer investigating the incident said “We’d like people to take a close look at the e-fit and see if they recognise this man.  Perhaps you know him or have seen him while you were out walking in Wigston.  Any information you have, could help us with our investigation."
