Police have released an Eigan fit image of a man they are trying to trace in connection with an incident at a swimming baths in Leicester.

The incident happened back in January (Saturday 30) at about 12.30pm when a 12-year-old girl and her three friends had been dropped off at the corner of Bridge Road and Spence Street, Highfields.

As they walked towards the swimming pool entrance, on Spence Street, they spotted a man who was sitting on a bollard. As the 12-year-old passed him, to get to the entrance, he grabbed her arm.

She screamed and managed to pull herself free before running into the main reception to the swimming baths.

The man is described as Asian, about 50-years-old, of chubby build, with black receding hair and a greying goatee beard. He was wearing a black cardigan and trousers and is described as looking scruffy. He was also carrying a bottle of what looked like cider.

The victim wasn’t hurt during the incident but officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

PC Kirt Springthorpe, the officer investigating the incident, said: “We are unsure at this stage what the man’s intentions were and we are would like to ask anyone who has information about this incident to contact us.

“When the man grabbed the young girl she screamed so if you were driving or walking past or were in the swimming baths you may have heard her and looked to see what it was.

“Perhaps you had been to the swimming baths that day and had noticed the man hanging around. Or maybe you recognise him from the picture. If so then please call us and help us locate him.”
