Special Operations Unit
The Special Operations Unit is designed to tackle serious and organised crime issues affecting the communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and the Unit has developed a level of expertise in a variety of law enforcement techniques.
It maintains its core business of supporting and implementing solutions to specialist criminal investigations and has adopted an operational strategy of targeting the criminal rather than the crime.
This operating strategy allows for flexibility in terms of managing a long term, commitment against organised criminality whilst, at the same time, allowing for any force intelligence driven enforcement operations to be managed and undertaken.
