Paedophile and Online Investigation Team

The Paedophile and Online Investigation Team (POLIT) are a stand-alone team that work closely with the Public Protection Management Team (PPMT) and the Child Abuse Investigation Unit (CAIU). Their role is to investigate internet abuse and other vice-type work.

In particular, the internet abuse investigations concern primarily indecent images of children and the team work closely with the national agency CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection), who tackle internet child abuse across all policing areas.
