Insp Viv Brenchley

"I joined Merseyside Police in 1981 and transferred to Leicestershire in 1993. I worked at Charles Street then on the St Matthew's Estate. In 1996 I became the LPU Commander at Ashby, then Coalville and finished working on the North in the Intell Unit at Loughborough. I moved to FHQ in 2002 where I worked as the Firearms Unit Inspector before taking over my current role within the Roads Policing Unit.

"As a Specialist Unit we have few opportunities for sitting down with the local communities in a positive way to find out what the concerns facing local people on our road networks are and how we, along with our Area colleagues, can assist in addressing them. These may be speeding or car cruising or indeed information around legislation surrounding vehicle usage.

"Each month we will seek to have a key topic, as we have Drink/Drug Driving for June, but this does not need to be exclusive as we are happy to hear from anyone who has anything they wish to share with us."

Sgt Ady Keeble

“I joined Leicestershire Constabulary in September 1992 and after spending the first nine years of my service in a variety of roles at Beaumont Leys I transferred to the RPU in 2001. Working initially as a Traffic Patrol officer, I qualified as a Forensic Collision Investigator in 2003 and much of my time since then has been spent working in that role. This involves my attendance at the scene of fatal or life threatening road traffic collisions anywhere in Leicestershire and Rutland and the subsequent reconstruction of the causes of those incidents.

"I am currently a Traffic Sergeant on the RPU and supervise a team of 10 specialist officers. Whilst their core role involves them dealing with traffic related incidents, RPU officers now engage far more with local communities than they did when I first joined the department all those years ago. The community forum is an ideal opportunity to further that engagement, and to give the public an insight into what we routinely deal with and how we can address their priorities.”

PC Dave Johnson

"I joined Leicestershire Constabulary back in 1992 and moved from various stations around the county before joining the Road Policing Unit as a traffic officer. Having a passion for motorcycles, I became a dual authority holder which means I can drive both the traffic motorway cars and the police motorcycles.

"I have become one of the traffic leads on the motorcycle section which involves leading, organising, planning and running minor and major events within the county such as VIP escorts/LCFC escort duties/parades etc.

"I have also become one of the Force motorcycle instructors which links in well with BIKESAFE - a day's course which is run from FHQ on Saturdays and Sundays. BIKESAFE allows advanced police motorcycle officers to share their knowledge and experience with members of the public and also arranges accompanied rides around the county on various types of roads, giving feedback and advice for indivdiuals to take away and develop."
