- Two arrested following drugs raids in Leicester

Two people were arrested following a series of drugs raids in one Leicester street. Warrants, issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act, were executed at three properties in a street in the Newfoundpool area of the city on Friday night (February 5).

Nearly 70 motorists were dealt with by police during a two hour operation targeting vehicles being driven illegally in a city centre street. Officers issued £30 fines to 69 drivers using Charles Street yesterday afternoon (Thursday February 4). The street is prohibited to all vehicles except buses and taxis and for disabled access.
