You may be aware that yesterday, Leicestershire Police and Leicester City Council announced that the English Defence League (EDL) and Leicester Unite Against Fascism (UAF) will undertake marches in the city on Saturday (February 4). Extensive liaison has taken place and concerns raised by communities, local businesses and residents have been taken into consideration, with two routes having now been announced. Of course, a large team of officers experienced in policing large scale events will support the policing of both marches on Saturday, in order to prevent any potential disruption from occurring and ensuring that the City remains as normal as possible.
