Welcome to Melton local policing unit
Melton Local Policing Unit (LPU) is situated at the heart of the market town of Melton Mowbray.
The town is surrounded by a large rural area, which includes many village and farming communities stretching from the villages of Bottesford in the north, to Knossington in the south, and Old Dalby in the west, all of which have differing and unique needs and requirements.
Burglary of homes and other premises is a major priority for local police officers as is vehicle crime, which accounts for a fairly large proportion of total crime throughout the LPU.
