Welcome to Charnwood local policing unit
Charnwood local policing unit (LPU) covers a large area and comprises both rural and urban communities. The LPU is divided into ten neighbourhood beats, each with a designated neighbourhood beat team. There are police stations at Syston and Quorn.
There are a large number of beauty spots in the area including Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill, which attract a significant number of visitors throughout the year. Officers work closely with the wardens to deter criminals. The LPU also covers a substantial part of the Watermead Countryside Park.
The main priority of the LPU is to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and several anti-social behaviour orders have been successfully obtained. Officers will continue to target those individuals who it is known through intelligence are committing crime, dealing drugs and acting in an anti-social manner.
