Inspector Chris Brown

Inspector Chris Brown has been the Commander of the North West Leicestershire local policing unit (LPU) since September 2007.  He joined Leicestershire Constabulary in 1983 and has a wealth of policing experience from working in a variety of locations across the Force area.

Inspector Brown said; "I really enjoy the challenge which comes with policing a large and diverse area and I am pleased to tell you that crime is down across the District with some significant reductions in burglaries (20%) and vehicle crime (14%) which means far fewer victims of crime.

“I recognise that anti-social behaviour is still an issue which local residents want us to address.  We work very closely with partners from a range of organisations such as youth services, North West Leicestershire District Council and the North West Leicestershire Partnership in Safer Communities to address a range of anti-social issues. I delighted to tell you that we have also seen a significant reduction in the number of incidents being reported to us and that our customer satisfaction in relation to anti-social behaviour has leapt by 25%.  We still intend to build and improve upon this further in 2010.

“Everyone has a part to play in addressing anti-social behaviour issues, whether it's knowing where your children are, and what they are doing, or refusing to sell alcohol to the under 18s. It is only by working together that we can eliminate anti-social behaviour from our neighbourhoods.

“Public consultation is vital if we are to tackle the issues which affect the communities we serve.  We can only concentrate on things that matter to you if you take part in our surveys and tell us what issues you would like us to address.  It is worth taking a bit of time to fill the survey in. You can fill it in right now by clicking here; http://www.leics.police.uk/surveys/consultation/ by completing this you will be influencing policing in your area.

“On these web pages you can read my monthly update; find out who your beat officer is and send me an email so don’t hesitate to get in touch."
