LPU commander - Inspector Johnny Monks
Inspector Johnny Monks
Inspector Johnny Monks has been the commander of Loughborough local policing unit (LPU) since September 2011.
Previously, he ran Rutland LPU for two and a half years.
Inspector Monks continued; “Like previous Inspectors, I am tough on crime and will continue the relentless pursuit of the minority of people who commit the majority of crime. In my previous role at Rutland I oversaw a reduction in burglary of 56% and a three year reduction in anti-social behaviour. Loughborough is bigger and busier of course but there is a great team of officers working across this vibrant town and I am excited to be in charge during 2012 which will be one of the biggest years for the town as the University is hosting Team GB and the Japanese athletes.
“I recognise the importance of strong partnership working and we will work hard together to tackle the problems that affect people’s quality of life. I want people to contact me by phone, email or in person if they have any issues they would like to discuss.”
Inspector Monks lives in the Vale of Belvoir is married and has three children.
