How to contact your neighbourhood policing team and who they are
Neighbourhood Sergeant
-
Sgt Richard Whileman (715)
I have been with Leicestershire Constabulary for thirteen years and during that time I have worked at Melton Mowbray, Keyham Lane and North West Leicestershire as a response and beat officer. In 2002 I transferred to the Armed Response Department and whilst there I received further training to perform a number of other armed roles. In 2004 I was promoted to sergeant in the Tactical Firearms Unit.
In January 2009 I left the firearms department to become a response sergeant based at Loughborough. In February 2010 I was selected to become the Melton Mowbray Neighbourhood Management Sergeant.
Neighbourhood policing will be a new challenge for me which I am keen to embrace. This is also a new role for Melton and it gives me the opportunity to build on the excellent work already carried out by our neighbourhood teams. I will be responsible for managing your beat officers and Police Community Support Officers to ensure Neighbourhood policing continues to maintain its high standard in Melton.

PC John Scott (954)
I joined the Police in 1994 and learnt about the job during my early years working at Melton as a General Duties Officer. In order to get some city policing experience I moved in the late 1990's to work in the Belgrave area of Leicester. About 6 years ago I was asked to return to Melton for a few months and have been here ever since!
In November 2009 I started work as a principle Beat Officer for the Melton 40 beat, joining PC 1235 Martin Taylor and PCSO 6635 Lyn Haynes in being responsible for 30 villages to the West and South of Melton. I am looking forward to meeting people and will try to spend as much of my time as possible 'on the beat' dealing with localised issues. -
PC Martin Taylor (1235)
"PC Martin Taylor has been an police officer since January 1996 and previously worked at Beaumont Leys before joining the team at Melton in January 2001. He became an instant response driver in 2005 and then a Beat Officer for Melton Rural South.
"As your beat officer, I am very keen to reduce crime, the fear of crime, target anti-social behaviour, and to generally improve the quality of life in your area. I need your help to do this, and would urge you to contact me with any issues, concerns or questions you have or with direct information regarding crime, offenders or any other illegal activity in your area." -
PCSO Lynn Haynes (6635)
"I joined Leicestershire Constabulary in September 2005 and have worked at Melton police station since November 2005. I enjoy working alongside the beat officers for the Melton rural south beat, addressing crime and issues that affect the varied communities that live and work in the rural locations.
"I enjoy establishing and developing contacts in villages and being involved with their functions and local schools.
