LPU commander - Inspector Neal Holland
Inspector Neal Holland
With over 20 years policing experience, Inspector Neal Holland has built up a wealth of knowledge in a variety of roles within the police service. His career began in 1988 with the Metropolitan Police Service where he spent five years working in North London, before moving back to his home town and joining Leicestershire Constabulary in 1993.
For two years he worked from the old Charles Street police station, patrolling the city centre in a variety of different policing roles. He then joined the Tactical Support Group where he undertook specialist training in dealing with public order, searching and carrying out enforcements. Neal was promoted to sergeant and worked at Braunstone police station before being promoted to Inspector this year.
Insp Holland has been the commander of Harborough local policing unit since November 2008. He said: "Working with the community and our partner agencies to deal with issues that impact on people’s quality of life is the most important aspect of policing in the Harborough District.
"Through neighbourhood policing and our local ‘Have your say' community consultations, I am confident the needs of the communities of Harborough, Lutterworth and the surrounding areas can be addressed.
"The team at Harborough and Lutterworth LPU seeks to provide visible and effective policing, which is responsive to the issues affecting the local community.
"One of our key strengths is our relationship with the local community. We constantly seek to provide a high quality policing service through traditional visible policing and extensive partnership networks.
"The main issues affecting the communities across Harborough District currently include vehicle crime, burglary and anti-social behaviour.
"On these pages you can view the neighbourhood beats covering the Harborough district, find out how to get to our two police stations, send us an email and view and comment on the priorities for each neighbourhood.
