Local priorities and action taken

Updates for November - January 2010
You told us…
Preventing youths acting in an anti-social manner
and the gathering of large groups in vehicles who
cause excessive noise and litter around the
church yard at Kilby on Fridays and Saturdays
between 10pm and 1am;
We responded…
Using targeted patrols in the area, which have identified
that youths were congregating in vehicles, although no
evidence of drug use was found. Patrols at the location
after Friday and Saturday nights did not show any signs
of drug use or excessive littering as experienced in
previous months. The congregation at Kilby Church and
local residents have commented on the improvement.
For these reasons we have decided that this priority will
be closed.
You told us…
Tackling loud, alcohol-related anti-social
behaviour caused by youths gathering on foot and
in vehicles around the Victory Park car park, Park
Road, Cosby, on Thursday, Fridays and
Saturdays between 7pm and midnight;
We responded…
By working closely with Blaby District Council’s antisocial
behaviour team. Together, we took details of
those youths causing issues, and they were sent
warning letters. We have also sent targeted patrols to
the area. These have not found any drug or alcohol
offences. The problem of youths in vehicles driving
dangerously on the car park and along Park Road have
all but stopped. We will continue to monitor the situation
but at this time will close this priority.
