Welcome to the City BCU
Welcome to the City Basic Command Unit (BCU) pages. The City of Leicester is one of the most vibrant and ethnically diverse areas in the country, thriving on the rich mix of cultures and faiths. This coupled with good community relations sees the City BCU in the heart of a city to be proud of.
The City BCU covers six local policing units which are Beaumont Leys, City Centre, Hinckley Road, Keyham Lane, Spinney Hill Park and Welford Road. It is also responsible for a 36 cell custody complex at Freemans Common, averaging about 1,200 prisoners per month.
You can see this is no mean effort in tackling offending. However, policing is more than this and hopefully below you will see more about both police and partnership approaches in collectively working towards making Leicester a safer place.
