Welcome to Hinckley Road local policing unit
Hinckley Road local policing unit (LPU) covers an area from the west of the city centre from the River Soar and the canal out to the city/county border. It has a population of approximately 44,500 people. The area includes the Braunstone estate and Stadium estate.
The LPU operates two Joint Action Groups (JAGs) incorporating many of the major organisations that are represented in the area and also works in partnership with tenants' and residents' associations in the neighbourhood.
The JAG has carried out many initiatives in the past which include local patch walks and community safety days as well as supporting Neighbourhood Watch and Pub Watch schemes. The JAG has also secured funding for CCTV on Braunstone Gate and for street pastors.
The LPU Commander, Inspector Siobhan Ashford, holds regular community consultation meetings which all residents are welcome to attend. Hinckley Road local policing unit is always open to feedback from the local community and welcomes any suggestions that can help us to improve the service we provide.
