Welcome to Welford Road local policing unit

Welford Road local policing unit (LPU) comprises a largely residential area covering the Aylestone, Eyres Monsell, Freeman and Knighton areas of Leicester. 

The key issues from a policing perspective are to continue to reduce the number of offences of acquisitive crime, such as burglary, robbery and thefts from vehicles, which are committed within the LPU, and to tackle anti-social behaviour.

    The trade in stolen goods across Leicester is being targeted as part of a campaign to reduce burglaries and robberies in the city. The Safer Leicester Partnership is urging members of the public who are offered a ‘too good to be true’ bargain to think carefully about where the sat nav or mobile phone has come from and to consider the consequences if they are found in possession of stolen goods.
