What is the Quality of Service Commitment?
Our Quality of Service Commitment (QoSC) sets out the 50 customer service standards that you (the general public) should expect to receive when you come into contact with the police.
These standards aim to ensure that the police service provides you with a consistent level of service, regardless of how or why you make contact with us.
It is important to note that the standards outline the minimum and not the maximum level of service, which you should expect and receive from the police service.
They underpin Leicestershire Constabulary's aim to provide a second to none policing service to the public of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, by providing the highest quality of service we can achieve.
We aim to deliver the service commitments in the following areas:
- Making it easier for you to contact us
- Providing a professional and high quality service
- Dealing with your enquiry
- Keeping people informed
- Your voice counts
- Victims of crime
- Freedom of Information
- Complaints
Through the 'Getting Personal' Programme, Leicestershire Constabulary aims to meet the challenge of creating a police service where you know your local police officer and police community support officers (PCSOs) and are confident in their ability to deal with crime and disorder issues in their community. We are also confident the Constabulary is sufficiently flexible and resilient to deal effectively with the outside threats, including organised crime and terrorism. This will promote maximum reassurance by the visible police presence.
Improving the service provided to all victims and witnesses and complying with the Quality of Service Commitment, by adopting a more citizen focused approach, is a key element of Leicestershire Constabulary's policing style.
This website is intended to offer advice and guidance and provide you with information about the Quality of Service Commitment.
You can also view or download the Making the Difference booklet or find out more about our Policing Pledge which outlines the standards of service that people should expect to receive from the police. It also gives communities a stronger voice in setting local police priorities.
