Keeping people informed
We recognise the importance of being kept up to date on the progress of your enquiry.
17 We will provide you with the details necessary for you to be able to talk to someone about your enquiry. In most cases this will be a reference number and the contact details of the person dealing with your enquiry.
- All crime (other than non-crime road traffic collisions) is recorded on our Crime Information System (CIS). This identifies the investigating officer and details all action taken. This is accessible by most members of staff, meaning that you can be appraised of progress on your case;
- Non-crime road traffic collisions (RTCs) are recorded and assigned a unique reference number by use of a computerised administrative support system. This can also be accessed upon request;
- Crime information leaflets are supplied to victims of crime. The leaflets contain useful information including information on what is to be expected from the Police Service.
