A 25-year-old man has been arrested following a collision in Sturdee Road, Leicester, this morning (Tuesday 3 December).
At 11.20am, police received a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. It was reported that the car – a Ford Kuga – had left the scene.
The pedestrian, a woman, was taken to hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. Enquiries into the location of the car were carried out and a 25-year-old man has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at an address in Blaby.
Sturdee Road was closed to allow officers to carry out enquiries. The road has since reopened.
Detectives are asking any witnesses to the collision, including motorists with dashcam footage, are being asked to come forward. Police would also like to speak to anyone who saw the car prior to the collision occurring.
