A man who was involved in a collision in Hinckley on Friday (26 July) has died.
Police were called to Hawley Road at around 3.30pm following a report of the collision between the man, who was a pedestrian, and a lorry – a white Volvo tipper truck.
The man, who is in his 60s, was taken to University Hospital of Coventry with serious injuries. He has since died.
No-one else was injured in the incident.
Hawley Road was closed between the junctions of Station Road and Rugby Road following the incident while initial enquiries were carried out before being reopened.
Enquiries have been ongoing into the incident and officers are appealing to anyone with any information who has not yet contacted police to do so.
Detective Constable Peter Davies said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who has any information regarding this incident. Were you in the area at the time? Did you see the collision? Or did you see the pedestrian or vehicle prior to the collision?
“Anyone who has any dashcam from the area at the time is also urged to check this and make contact with us.”
