A man has been charged with murder following a stabbing in Glen Parva, Leicester.
Darren Whatsize, 46, of Greendale Road, Glen Parva has been remanded in custody to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (4 July).
The charge relates to police being called to an address in Greendale Road shortly before 4pm yesterday (2 July).
On attendance at the address, the body of a man was found. He has since been formally identified as 92-year-old Edwin Whatsize, who was known as Ted and lived at the address.
An elderly woman, who was in the property at the time, was not injured.
Edwin’s family has asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
