A man used a baseball bat to smash the window of a travelling car in Oadby yesterday evening (Tuesday).
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened in Stoughton Drive South at around 9.30pm.
Two women were travelling in the car when a silver Mercedes car was reported to have blocked it in.
The women managed to drive off in the car but as they did, a man got out of the Mercedes vehicle and used what was believed to be a baseball bat to smash the rear window.
No-one was injured in the incident and police were contacted.
A 21-year-old man from Leicester has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. He currently remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Henry Henderson said: “It is extremely fortunate that no-one was injured in this incident and an investigation remains ongoing.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area yesterday evening and who has any information in relation to the incident to make contact.
“If you have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time, please also check this – you may be able to help us with our enquiries.”
