Serious collision in Ashby

A pedestrian remains in hospital after he was involved in a serious collision in Ashby, Leicestershire, on Bank Holiday Monday (27 May).
The collision occurred around 12.55am on Nottingham Road, the pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was crossing the road when a white Vauxhall Corsa collided with him.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he remains in a critical but stable condition. No one in the Corsa was injured.
Officers are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision, and not yet spoken to officers, or saw either the pedestrian or Corsa beforehand to come forward.
