Murder investigation: Man arrested for murder of 21-year-old Mohammed Jibreel

An 18-year-old man has been arrested this afternoon (Monday) on suspicion of the murder of Mohammed Jibreel.
The man, from Leicester, is in police custody where he is being questioned by detectives.
He was arrested in Manitoba Road on the St Matthews estate, and there was a significant police presence at the time of the arrest.
Mohammed Jibreel was found injured in the area of Taylor Road and Kashmir Road in St Matthews, Leicester, at around 3pm last Saturday (21 September). He had suffered a stab wound and was taken to hospital where he died during the early hours of Sunday morning (22 September).
A murder investigation was launched and enquiries have been ongoing throughout the past week.
A number of people have been arrested in connection with this investigation and released.
- A 17-year-old boy, of Leicester, previously arrested on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation.
- A 19-year-old man, who was arrested on Friday on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on police bail.
- A 48-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on police bail.
One man has been charged with murder – Ali Mohamed, 19, of Pembroke Street, Leicester, has been charged with the murder of Mohammed Jibreel and appeared at Leicester Crown Court today (30 September).
