Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward after a man was shot in Humberstone.
Officers were called to Scraptoft Mews, off Scraptoft Lane, at around 4.45pm on Friday (3 April) following a report that a man had been shot while sitting inside a car.
The man, in his 30s, was taken to hospital to be treated for gunshot injuries. He has since been discharged.
Detectives are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a black Volkswagen Tiguan leaving Scraptoft Mews.
The car was later found abandoned in Washington Road, off Barkbythorpe Road and has been recovered by police.
Detective Sergeant Scott Cairns, from Leicestershire Police’s Complex investigation team, said: “We are treating this as an isolated and pre-meditated incident and are considering whether the suspect or suspects are known to the victim.
“While I appreciate this is a time when people should only be making necessary and essential journeys, I would like to speak to anyone who saw a black Volkswagen Tiguan in the Humberstone area of Leicester.
“Did you notice anything unusual, suspicious of concern about the way in which it was being driven? If you have a dashcam installed in your vehicle, then please get in touch.
“I’d also like to speak to anyone who was in Scraptoft Lane on Friday afternoon – either in a car or on foot – and witnessed anything unusual or untoward. Any information you have could help my investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference 20*176244.
