Further arrest following stabbing in West Street

Detectives investigating a stabbing in West Street, Leicester, have made a further arrest.
A 46-year-old man from Leicester was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder earlier this afternoon (Friday 14 August).
A 41-year-old woman from the city was arrested in the early hours of this morning (Friday 14 August) on suspicion of attempted murder – she remains in police custody.
Yesterday evening, a 49-year-old Leicester woman was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but, following further enquiries, she was released with no further action.
At around 11.40pm on Wednesday (12 August) police were called to an address in West Street following a report that a man inside the address had been injured.
A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains in a stable condition.
Officers subsequently found a second man, 56, in a car park at the rear of the address. He had suffered stab wounds and was also taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
A 37-year-old man from Leicester was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Kevin Hames, from the force’s Complex crime team, said: “We have made two further arrests and one woman remains in custody, along with a man who was arrested following the report being made.
“Our investigation is very much ongoing and I would still like to speak to anyone who was in West Street or the surrounding area on Wednesday night.
“Did you see or hear anything suspicious, unusual or that attracted your attention? If you know something, no matter how insignificant you think those details are, they could help with our investigation.”
