Appeal for information about reported dangerous driving around Oakham

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a grey Vauxhall Astra was reported to have been driven in a dangerous manner in the Oakham area between 7pm and 7.30pm on Sunday 6 December.
The car was reported to have been driven in a dangerous manner and at excess speed in High Street, Oakham at around 7.20pm.
It was then driven over the railway crossing, headed north out of the town and was last seen close to Lidl in Oakham. It was later picked up again close to Whissendine.
The car was then abandoned in Whissendine Road, Leesthorpe around 7.30pm.
A 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol near the scene on 6 December. Both have been released under investigation.
The car is not a suspected stolen vehicle and enquiries are ongoing.
Officers are appealing to anyone who saw the car in the area at the time to get in touch.
PC Craig Taylor said: “We have been carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident and are appealing to anyone who may remember seeing the vehicle being driven in the area at the time to make contact with us.
“We appreciate a few weeks have passed since this report but are asking anyone with CCTV footage or dashcam footage from the area at the time to check this and make contact if you have not already done so.”
