Appeal for witnesses after report of fight in Leicester

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a report of a fight involving a number of youths in Leicester on Saturday evening (19 December).
The incident was reported to have taken place between 9pm and 11pm when a number of youths were reported to be in the area of Regent Road, De Montfort Street and Princess Road East in possession of weapons believed to be knives and a metal pole.
It was reported the youths had been fighting in the area.
Police attended the scene and two 16-year-old boys, four 17-year-old boys and an 18-year-old man, all from Leicester, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. They have since been released under investigation.
No injuries have been reported.
PC Russell Finlay would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident.
He said: “The incident involved a large group of youths running through the area who were reported to be in possession of weapons. We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and who has any information to contact us.
“We are very keen to speak to anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage that may have captured the incident.”
