Man charged following incident in city centre

A man has been charged following an incident in Leicester city centre yesterday evening (Saturday).

Alyasa Samuel, 21, of Sanvey Gate, Leicester, has been charged with wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article.

The charge is in connection with an incident which happened at a premises in Highcross Lane.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with stab wound injuries following the incident. He currently remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Samuel has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday).
