Wigston murder inquiry – two charged

A 19-year-old man has this evening (Monday 20 January) been charged following the death of Howard Staff.
Jack Tebbutt, 19, of Central Avenue, Wigston has been charged with manslaughter and burglary.
A 17-year-old girl, from Leicester, who can’t be named for legal reasons, has also been charged with assisting an offender.
Mr Staff, 66, was injured during a burglary at his home address in Gibson Close on Monday 13 January. He was taken to hospital where he died, as a result of his injuries, in the early hours of Tuesday morning (14 January).
Both Tebbutt and the 17-year-old girl will appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (Tuesday 21 January).
- Two 15-year-old boys, who were both arrested today (20 January) on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary and robbery, have been released under investigation.
