Appeal for public help after attempt burglary in Leicester

Officers are appealing for witnesses after the occupant of a house disturbed a burglar yesterday evening (Tuesday 24 November).
The 38-year-old victim was making her way into her property when she was approached by a man leaving the rear garden. The man threatened the victim before riding off on his pushbike on to Sudeley Avenue and then onto the (A6) Abbey Lane.
The incident took place just after 5pm in Tollemache Avenue, Leicester.
The suspect has been described as being white, 5ft 7ins tall, about 25 years-old, of slim build, with a very clear complexion, he had short ginger hair, blue eyes and spoke with a British accent. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, black trousers and a black face mask, he was carrying a black backpack and riding a silver BMX style bicycle.
DC Mona Saad is investigating the incident, she said: “This incident happened during the early evening on a busy residential street where a number of people were either walking or driving by at the time. The suspect also made his way onto the (A6) Abbey Lane again this is a busy road, where people would have been walking or driving by at the time.”
“I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw a man matching the description of the suspect.”
