Cannabis factory discovered in disused nightclub

More than 1500 cannabis plants have been recovered from a premises in Braunstone Gate, Leicester.
A warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act was executed yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 17 November) at the former Sumo Bar.
Officers are in the process of clearing the site today and enquiries are ongoing into the find.
No arrests have been made.
Sergeant Joe Postlethwaite from the City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA), said: “This was a significant haul of cannabis plants. We acted swiftly on information we have received and prevented the drugs from hitting the streets.
“We will continue to carry out operations of this nature and encourage people to report any suspicions they may have about premises being used in this way.”
