Police launch murder investigation in Market Harborough

Leicestershire Police have launched a murder investigation into the death of a woman in August 2019.
The body of a female aged 70, was found in her back garden in Shelland Close, Market Harborough, on Monday 12 August 2019.
Paramedics attended the scene but despite efforts to revive her, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Today a man, aged 71, from Market Harborough has been arrested on suspicion of the murder. He currently remains in police custody.
Senior Investigating officer Detective Inspector Nicole Main said:
“Specialist officers have been deployed to support the family at this time and we are currently not looking for anyone else in connection with the enquiry.”
