Appeal after motorcyclist dies in A6006 Asfordby collision

A motorcyclist has died following a collision on the A6006 in Asfordby at the junction of Loughborough Road.
The incident happened at around 10.45am today (Saturday 19 September) and involved three vehicles – two motorbikes and a car.
One of the motorcyclists, a man in his 60’s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The other rider sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The occupants of the car, a silver Toyota Avensis, were not injured.
The A6006 at its junctions with Loughborough Road and the B676 remains closed to allow for an investigation of the scene.
Detective Constable Kasie Carter is from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit. She said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision itself or saw any of the vehicles being driven beforehand.
“If you have dashcam installed in your vehicle and captured what happened please get in touch.
