Detectives are appealing for information after a man was left with slash wound injuries following an incident in Melton Mowbray on Thursday (17 September).
Police were called to Sysonby Street, near Welby Lane, just after 3.15pm following a report of a fight in the area involving a number of people.
Police attended the scene and found a man, in his 20s, had suffered slash wound injuries to his arm and his thumb. East Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene but the man chose to attend hospital himself for treatment and has since been discharged.
From initial enquiries, it is understood another man was injured in the incident but left the scene before police arrived.
Officers are carrying out enquiries and are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
A 23-year-old man, of Melton Mowbray, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail.
Officers are appealing for anyone with any information in relation to the incident to make contact.
Detective Sergeant Dan Lester said: “We are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and understand a number of people were in the area that afternoon and witnessed this incident.
“Please think back to if you were in the area at the time and any information you may have which could assist our investigation. If you have any CCTV, dashcam footage or any footage which you may have recorded on your phone at the time of the incident, you should make contact with us.”
