Teenager charged after a series of robberies in city

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with a number of offences after a series of robberies in the city centre.
The boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was charged with six counts of robbery and three counts of possession of a bladed article.
He appeared before Leicester Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday 15 September) and was released on conditional bail until his next appearance at Leicester Youth Court on Monday 28 September.
The charges relate to incidents between 8 and 10 September and a number of items were stolen including jewellery, pedal cycles, mobile phones, clothes and Apple Air pods.
