Two men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after a car was driven into the front of a shop premises in Wigston and items stolen.
Police were called at around 11pm on Tuesday (22 September) to a report that a grey Nissan Almera had driven into a shop window in Bell Street.
A quantity of perfume and aftershave was stolen from the store.
No-one was in the store at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported.
Yesterday (23 September), a 41-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, both of Leicester, were arrested in connection with the incident.
Both men were also further arrested on suspicion of a number of other offences in relation to separate matters. These were on suspicion of burglary in connection with an incident in Hebden Close, Leicester, on 21 September, on suspicion of theft from a vehicle in connection with an incident in Trenant Road, Leicester, on 22 September and on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, namely a knife, on 23 September and on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis on 23 September.
The men have since been released on police bail.
Enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with any information in relation to the incident in Bell Street, Wigston, who has not yet spoken to police is urged to make contact.
Anyone who has any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time should also check this and contact police.
