Death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, aged 99

Today (Friday 9 April) the Queen has announced the death of her husband Prince Philip at the age of 99. The Duke died peacefully at Windsor Castle this morning.
Chief Constable Simon Cole said: “On behalf of all of the officers, staff and volunteers at Leicestershire Police I wish to express our condolences at the announcement of the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
“We have had the privilege of supporting visits’ that he has made to the Force area on a number of occasions. The legacy for young people created by the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards will live on in his memory.”
