Death of man in Leicester not being treated as suspicious

Detectives investigating the death of a man in Leicester yesterday (Monday 26 April) are not treating it as suspicious.
Shortly after 2.15pm, police were called to Charles Street after a man was found seriously injured in the street. Colleagues from the East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended but the man was pronounced dead a short time later.
Following enquiries at the scene, a 45-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the incident.
The investigation into the man’s death has continued today, which has involved several people who were in Charles Street around the time the incident was reported being spoken to by officers.
No suspicious circumstances have been identified and the man and woman have been released with no further action.
A file is being prepared for the coroner.
